The "Antonio Maria Traveri" Physics Museum Direction desires to sincerely thank Prof. Paolo Bonavoglia for having planned and implemented the principal nucleus of the Database, nucleus from which this online version has been realized with opportune changes and amplifications.
Among the activities listed in the Museum's Statute there is the aim to favor the research. In this context we state essential the presence online of all the principal information regarding the tools of our collection (e.g. sources for the dating operation of the tools, their item number in the inventories and state of conservation, etc.). Since we have over 550 instruments, the work is notable and not yet finished.
NOTICE:The english translation of the database is an important occasion to let the A. M. Maria Travarsi Physics collection be better known. The translation is a work in progress that can't be realized in a few time: the hardest work is the translation of the texts in which each instrument is shortly explained. So partial translated cards (read cards in english with all the data, but without the device description text) are always available on the web for all the instruments that appear in the italian version of this database, even if in the pages in which instrument's cards can be selected by name or by 1870 inventory number I added a special filter that lets only the items of the complete cards be shown in each selection menu. That's the reason why the available data in english are different from the one written in the correspondent italian page. The differences are due to the translation of the description texts that are not jet done.
